Regional Meeting on the Digital Integration

Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) is organizing the first regional stock-taking meeting on Digital Integration, in line with the organisation’s activities on the implementation of the Multi Annual Action Plan (MAP) for a Regional Economic Area (REA), in Brussels on 7-8 December 2017. 

The meeting aims to support implementation of the measures under the MAP Digital Integration component, starting with identification of the current state of play, existing initiatives, activities and plans at national and regional levels, in order to analyse the status  and identify needs, priorities and future milestones for digital integration in Western Balkans (WB) along 4 areas of Digital Integration component of the MAP: Digital Connectivity; Trust and security; Digital skills; and Digitalization of economy.   
 
The meeting will gather representatives from six WB economies, the European Commission’s relevant experts from Directorates-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology  (CONNECT) and  Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR), representatives from Delegations of the European Union, Western Balkans Chambers Investment Forum (WB CIF), the World Bank, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), The Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) as well as other regional and international partners active in the area of digital integration of Western Balkans.
