Ljubljana - Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Amer Kapetanović met today in Ljubljana with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tone Kajzer for an exchange on regional cooperation, the European integration of the Western Balkans Six and priorities for the period ahead.
The two discussed the importance of maintaining momentum on regional cooperation and translating political commitments into concrete progress for citizens and businesses, including through the Common Regional Market and closer integration with the European Union Single Market.
“As an RCC participant, Slovenia has consistently supported regional cooperation and the European perspective of the Western Balkans Six. At a time when enlargement has regained political momentum, it is important that we use this opportunity to accelerate delivery, strengthen regional integration and bring the region closer to the European Union in practical terms,” said Kapetanović.
Kajzer reaffirmed Slovenia’s support for the European integration of the Western Balkans Six and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation and progress on shared regional priorities.
The two also exchanged views on current developments in South East Europe and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the RCC and Slovenia in the period ahead.
