25 October 2018-27 October 2018 Paphos, Cyprus

The RCC’s Tourism Development and Promotion Project will present its work on regional cultural tourism development at the 11th International Conference on Cultural Tourism.

The Conference organized by the European Cultural Tourism Network brings together tourism practitioners from the governmental, non-governmental and private sector.

This year’s theme is “Cultural Heritage as an Asset for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism”. The Conference “will discuss the latest trends in the field of cultural heritage and responsible and sustainable tourism, including innovation, creativity, design, r&d and cultural tourism product development.”

In the cultural tourism segment, the RCC’s Project works to develop joint regional tourism routes based on post World War II monuments and their particular design and art; crossroad of civilisations in the Western Balkans as a regional umbrella identity; and archaeological sites from the Roman period and their integration in the existing cultural routes.

The RCC’s Project is funded by the EU. It is being implemented over a three year period and works to contribute to the economic growth through tourism development and international promotion.
