Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) convenes the 3rd meeting of Coordinators of Multi-Annual Action Plan (MAP) on Regional Economic Area (REA) in six Western Balkan (WB6), which will take place in Brussels, on 9 October 2018.

The meeting aims to have a strategic and informed discussion on the next MAP REA deliverables, as well as on the main challenges and milestones related to their implementation.

Central European Free Tarde Agreement (CEFTA) and RCC Secretariats will present the preliminary proposed regional deliverables, subject to strategic views and comments on feasibility from beneficiary economies, thus reaffirming their commitments to the implementation of MAP REA.

The first year of MAP REA implementation is marked with the achievement of tangible results, with Vienna Economy Ministerial Meeting recognising the transformative nature of the Regional Economic Area and the Sofia EU-Western Balkan (WB) Summit and WB London Summit highlighting needs to step up efforts in this regard. Concrete deliverables have been implemented along the four MAP REA components and positive results are noted. Yet, the objectives of MAP REA are very complex and set forth an ambitious agenda for WB6, requiring as such additional invested efforts in implementing national/regional activities.
