Terrorism, in all forms and manifestations, constitute one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. It is at present and will remain, one of the most serious threats to peace, stability, national and international security. For this reason, the Republic of Albania considers terrorism as one of the priorities on its political agenda, taking part in the coalition which has been fighting terrorism since 9/11 around the world.

The Albanian counter-terrorism policy is guided by respect for human rights, effective law enforcement and full international co-operation. The Republic of Albania fosters links and maintains dialogue among the various communities in Albania in order to further integration and prevent conflicts from arising on ethnic or religious basis, firmly believing that terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality or civilization.
