Description | Objective: Strengthen capacities of partner institutions that are needed to meet the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and EU requirements. The challenges will be addressed by ensuring participation and engagement of all relevant stakeholder groups in the design and implementation of three capacity-building orientated intervention areas: Component 1: Regional Assessment of BIMR baseline (stakeholder analysis, policy and institutional set-up for entire SEE region) Component 2: Development of BIMR Regional Guidelines for managing data and reporting on species diversity, ecosystems and genetic diversity Component 3: Piloting of BIMR Regional Guidelines in 3 SEE economies Results expected: • Governmental and other stakeholders have gained detailed knowledge about regional and national BIMR situation. • Governmental stakeholders have agreed on mini-mum CBD and EU requirements on BIMR at regional and to some extent at national level. • Stakeholders are capable of implementing BIMR Regional Guidelines Implementing partners: Environmental ministries and agencies (Regional Environmental Working Group (REWG) and associated Biodiversity Ecosystem Services Task Force (BDESS TF) |
