| Description | The specific objective of the Action is to build capacity of the national prosecutors and young professional of post-Yugoslav countries to carry out effective war crimes investigations and trials at national level and improve cooperation among the national prosecutors' offices and to strengthen regional news exchange from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). As a result, effective investigations and prosecution of war crimes will, in the long run, contribute to the rule of law, reconciliation processes and regional stability in the Western Balkans. Also, continued media coverage about the ICTY proceedings will provide measure of justice for the war crimes victims and contribute to inter-ethnic reconciliation in the region. |
