Following the launch of the Regional Network of Women in Entrepreneurship (RNWE) last March in Tirana, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) meets representatives of public and private sector, civil society organisations and academia in every Western Balkans economy to discuss and agree on joint roadmaps for actions.
The consultation meetings followed an extensive study of data on women entrepreneurs, legislative and legal frameworks, impediments and enabling factors, best practices, and support activities in each economy. Meetings took place either in hybrid format or online from 27 January to 09 February 2023.
Scaling up entrepreneurial education, combining financial support with know-how and business literacy, engaging academia to scale up gender data availability, development of Gender Scorecards, and supporting regional networking of women entrepreneurs were just some of the meetings takeaways further contributing to the activity of the Regional Network of Women in Entrepreneurship.
As an example of the current RNWE efforts to promoting successful stories of women entrepreneurs from Western Balkans and determination to facilitate regional networking, RCC announced start of the nomination process for the Western Balkans Women Entrepreneurs of the Year 2022 earlier this month. The nominations are open until 28 February 2023, and aim to recognize women who have started and developed their own business.
