The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) organises the 3rd Meeting of the South East Europe’s (SEE) Network of Associations of Mediators that is to be held on 24 April 2018 in Bucharest, Romania.

The meeting aims to identify weak points and regional tools for the improvement of alternative dispute resolution; present the differences, advantages and weaknesses of mediation and arbitration as similar but different processes of alternative dispute resolution (ADR); and discuss ways to raise public awareness on mediation and arbitration. It will also be an opportunity to discuss future work of the SEE Network of the Associations aiming to improve judicial efficiency by promoting mediation and supporting judicial reforms as one of the prerequisites for achieving high European Union’s (EU) standards in the area of justice.

The Meeting of the SEE Network of the Mediators’ Associations is preceding the 9th meeting of the Western Balkans Working Group on Justice that is taking place also in Bucharest, the following morning, 25 April 2018.

The SEE Network of Associations of Mediators’ Institutions serves as a platform for exchange of experiences and support to mediation as a tool to reduce court backlogs.
