7th Meeting of the Regional Working Group on Environment

Regional Working Group on Environment (RWG Env) is to meet on 30 May 2018 in Skopje, hosted by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the host Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.
The meeting is to discuss current state of play in the Western Balkans economies in the area of environment and climate change, providing further steering of the environment dimension of South East Europe 2020 (SEE 2020) Strategy and ensuring consolidated regional approach and monitoring of implementation of regional projects, in line with Bon Ministerial Declaration endorsed in November last year. Furthermore, the meeting is to initiate a debate on needs for stronger regional cooperation and possibilities for joint actions in the future.
It will convene representatives from six Western Balkan economies, European Commission, Energy Community Secretariat, and other partner organizations active in the area of environment and climate change together with RCC and Regional Dimension Coordinators.
The Working Group meeting is held back-to-back with the 2nd Biodiversity Task Force meeting organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (IUCN ECARO) as the Secretariat and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit Open Regional Funds (GIZ ORF) Biodiversity Project, taking place a day earlier.
