Tirana – Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), and Federica Mogherini, College of Europe Rector, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on developing and further strengthening the cooperation between the two institutions, in Tirana today.

“Building human capital, employment, skilling and upskilling of youngsters are high under the RCC agenda, hence the main goal of this MoU is to enable the RCC to provide one full scholarship annually for one student from South East Europe at the College of Europe Tirana Campus. This is an initiative we are pioneering for the first time within RCC. It is a great addition to what we have been doing so far on youth agenda - improving policies, mobility programmes, paid internships - more than 30 students have been interns at RCC, open talks and visits to universities, etc.,” said Ms Bregu

“We are delighted that the Regional Cooperation Council has decided to support the College of Europe in the historic establishment of our new campus in Tirana through a new scholarship scheme. The mission of the College of Europe toward further European integration is a perfect match for the mission of the Regional Cooperation Council, which has worked tirelessly towards the full European integration of its members since its creation. As our campus will grow in the next years, we are committed to further exploring this partnership and supporting each other to maximise our impact,” said Ms Mogherini

Scholarship provided by the RCC will cover tuition, board and lodging and, among other things, academic study trips. The supported scholar will be chosen by candidacy, in line with the requirements of the College of Europe. The courses will start in August.
