Butterfly Innovation Award fund at 30,000 EUR - 6 most successful ideas to get 5,000 EUR each 

Sarajevo – The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) invites young innovators to apply for the 3rd edition of the Regional Butterfly Innovation Award, seeking scalable, market-driven solutions from the Western Balkans. The total Award fund is 30,000 EUR, with the best solution in each of the six categories receiving a prize of 5,000 EUR.

Just as previous years, you can apply for up to two out of six categories: 
•    Industry Innovation (automotive, metal-processing, creative industries, agrofood, green and circular economy, tourism, FinTech, EdTech, BioTech, HealthTech, etc.); 
•    Green Innovation (climate action, sustainable energy, mobility & agriculture, fight against pollution, nature and biodiversity protection, etc.); 
•    STEM Innovation (science, technology, engineering and mathematics); 
•    Youth Innovation (recognising undergraduate university or high school students);
•    University Innovation (recognising entrepreneurial culture at universities); 
•    Women Innovation (recognising women innovators and entrepreneurs). 
We invite eligible individuals and organisations to apply and take part in this competition. 

Applicants must be individuals or teams from the Western Balkans (average age per team must not exceed 35 years). Entries must fit within one of the official award categories, and the innovative solutions must demonstrate a tangible impact within the Western Balkans.

The third edition of the regional Butterfly Innovation Award continues to support economic development of the Western Balkans through embracing digital transformation, fostering environmental sustainability, and promoting the culture of innovation. By highlighting successful innovative achievements, the award aims to empower sensitive groups, particularly youth and women.

The application process is open from today until 10 October 2024. The Butterfly Innovation Award winners will be announced at an event in November 2024.
