Pristina – The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanovic, continued his consultations with authorities across South East Europe with an official visit to Pristina. During his visit, Kapetanovic met with key officials, including the President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and President of the Assembly Glauk Konjufca

Secretary General Kapetanovic emphasized the RCC’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and integration through its strategic initiatives. These include the Common Regional Market (CRM) Action Plan, the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, and the South East Europe 2030 (SEE2030) Strategy – a joint effort of all 13 South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) economies.

“The RCC is dedicated to promoting regional dialogue and cooperation as a catalyst for economic growth, stability, and prosperity in South East Europe. Our work is focused on ensuring that the regional agendas we facilitate deliver tangible, citizen-focused results. The successful implementation of CRM, Green Agenda, and SEE2030 requires shared determination, strong institutional partnerships, and a commitment to overcoming common challenges together,” said Kapetanovic.

Officials in Pristina commended the work of the RCC in facilitating regional agendas, particularly its commitment to all-inclusiveness, and reiterated their support for the organisation’s future plans and activities.

Discussions during the visit also touched on Pristina’s progress in financial and economic integration, particularly its steps towards joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). The RCC praised Pristina’s recent legislative efforts essential for SEPA membership, as well as its decision to sign a Letter of Intent with the Bank of Italy to develop an instant payment system modelled after the EU’s TIPS system. The RCC expressed its willingness to support these efforts through regional platforms. The visit reaffirmed the importance of SEECP as a cornerstone of regional dialogue, development, security, and stability. With global challenges growing in complexity, strengthened regional collaboration remains essential for fostering economic resilience and deeper EU integration.

During the visit, the RCC Secretary General also met with the Head of the EU Office in Pristina, Aivo Orav, and the President of the Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF), Lulzim Rafuna.

Last night in Pristina the RCC organised and hosted the ceremony presenting the Western Balkans Women Entrepreneurs of the Year 2024, recognising 6 remarkable women from our region and their outstanding contributions to the region’s economic development.
