RCC and Council of Europe chiefs stress importance of building human capital in South Eastern Europe

STRASBOURG/SARAJEVO – Education and building of human capital in South Eastern Europe were highlighted as joint priorities of the RCC and the Council of Europe (CoE), at the meeting of the RCC Secretary General Hido Biscevic and the CoE Deputy Secretary General Maud De Boer-Buquichcio in Strasbourg today.
The two officials agreed that the RCC and the CoE will prepare a plan of possible joint activities in the field of education and other areas of interest to the youth.
Secretary General Biscevic informed his colleague of the RCC establishment process, the organization's priorities, as well as of the strong support to its work by the countries of the region, the European Commission and the donor countries and institutions.
Deputy Secretary General De Boer-Buquichcio also strongly supported the RCC work and highlighted the similarities of many of the organizations' goals and priorities. She accepted Secretary General Biscevic's invitation to visit the RCC Secretariat in Sarajevo.
Secretary General Biscevic delivered a lecture on the importance of regional cooperation and spoke about the RCC, as the region's main operational body, to the participants of the CoE Schools of Political Studies from Belgrade, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje and Zagreb.
The RCC Secretary General also met with CoE Director General for Democracy and Political Affairs, Jean-Louis Laurens, and Special Representative of the CoE Secretary General to Sarajevo, Caroline Ravaud.
