PDF | 252KB

At the launch of the Decade in early 2005, the prime ministers of the participating governments signed a declaration committing their respective governments to fight discrimination against Roma, close gaps between Roma and non-Roma, support the participation of Roma communities and measure progress in this regard. Additionally, education, employment, health, and housing were designated as the Decade’s priority areas. Discrimination, gender mainstreaming, and poverty, on the other hand, were to be taken into account by participating governments as cross-cutting core issues.
