Regional Platform for Countering Radicalization and Violent Extremism leading to Terrorism and Foreign Terrorist Fighters - CVE-FTF Platform

In response to the mandate entrusted by SEECP MFAs, the RCC has established the SEE Regional Platform for Countering Radicalization and Violent Extremism leading to Terrorism and Foreign Terrorist Fighters (CVE/FTF).

The Platform is strengthening coordination and cooperation on countering radicalization and violent extremism at national and regional levels, addressing the most pressing issues, under the SEECP political umbrella. The expected outcome is a coordinated, all-inclusive and regionally owned process in place, as a contribution to the overall European and global counter-terrorism efforts.

The SEE Regional Platform on CVE/FTF is embedded in the EU-backed Western Balkans Counter-Terrorism Initiative (WBCTi) and its activities are relevant in the framework of the Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG) – an EU Programme designed to assist the Western Balkans in tackling serious and organised crime including terrorism in an integrative and coordinated approach.

In this respect, the RCC organises annual high level (“JUMBO”) events - Regional Coordination Conference on Counter-Terrorism, Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism (CT and P/CVE) in SEE. As a unique regional organisation that pursues a holistic approach in regional cooperation, the Conference is part of the overall RCC efforts to support efficient, coherent and streamlined regional security cooperation.
