In her speech at the 3rd Regional Butterfly Innovation Award Ceremony, Elda Kalaja, Head of the RCC’s Office of the Secretary General, celebrated the Western Balkans' progress in fostering innovation while acknowledging the challenges ahead. She highlighted Montenegro's strides in creating a vibrant innovation ecosystem, exemplified by the new Science and Technology Park, and lauded the vision of RCC Secretary General Bregu, who championed initiatives like Balkathon and the Butterfly Innovation Forum. Kalaja emphasized the importance of human capital, noting significant contributions from women and a focus on critical areas like green innovation. She also addressed gaps, such as low regional investment in research and innovation, and called for collective action to align with EU standards.
