The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) will present the 2023 winner of the Champion of Regional Cooperation Dr. Erhard Busek Award at a ceremony in Skopje, following the RCC Annual Meeting.

The Champion of Regional Cooperation Dr. Erhard Busek Award is given annually to an individual or organization that has significantly contributed to advancing regional cooperation in South East Europe, based on European values and principles. Established by the RCC in February 2013 to commemorate the organization's 5th anniversary, the award was renamed in 2022 to honor Dr. Erhard Busek posthumously. Dr. Busek, who was the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, the RCC’s predecessor, was a dedicated supporter of the Western Balkans and a fervent advocate for the region's integration into the European Union.
The award is organized in cooperation with the Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria (BMEIA).
