Pristina invited to participate in development projects in Southeast Europe by RCC Secretary General

PRISTINA/SARAJEVO – The RCC Secretary General, Hido Biscevic, discussed with high officials in Pristina yesterday the most beneficial ways of utilizing RCC networking capacities to ensure faster development of the organization’s every Southeast European member.
At a meeting with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Kosovo (SRSG), Lamberto Zannier, Secretary General Biscevic stressed the importance of an active involvement of Kosovo authorities, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, in regional development projects, especially in the areas of energy and infrastructure.
The SRSG Zannier confirmed the interest of his institution in regional cooperation and updated the RCC Secretary General on UNMIK reconfiguration.
While talking to Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuci, Secretary General Biscevic highlighted that Pristina’s participation in regional networking activities, involving the RCC and its members from Southeast Europe, the European Commission and international financial institutions, was indispensible for stability and prosperity of the whole region. In this respect, he added that the RCC Secretariat would continue to serve as a facilitator among the RCC members and all the relevant actors engaged in advancing economic and social prospects of Southeast Europe.
During the visit, the RCC Secretary General also met with the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith.
The visit was part of Secretary General Biscevic’s series of political consultations with RCC members from Southeast Europe.
